Rank STR vs AutoRank Listing Optimization
AutoRank applies listing changes for you across Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo, and covers ranking factors we do not touch, like booking pace and cancellation policy. Its listing plan lists at $9.00/mo, but that is billed a year upfront with a $250 onboarding fee and a one-year commitment. Rank STR is $9.99 a month, month to month, first report free.
Pricing below was read from AutoRank's own site on 2 August 2026. Prices change — check theirs before deciding.

Where AutoRank is better
These are real capabilities we do not have. If one of them is what you came for, AutoRank is the right choice.
- It makes the changes for you
- This is the real difference, and for a manager with fifty listings it is decisive. AutoRank pushes updates to your listings automatically. Rank STR hands you rewritten copy and you paste it in yourself — fine for one or two listings, tedious at fifty.
- It looks at signals we cannot see
- They advertise more than ten ranking factors per channel, including booking pace, availability settings, and cancellation policy. We only read what is on the public listing page, so anything that depends on your account internals is outside what we can analyze.
- Three channels, not one
- AutoRank covers Booking.com and Vrbo alongside Airbnb. We are Airbnb only, so a multi-channel portfolio gets less from us.
- Built for portfolios
- Their pricing and tooling are designed around 15 to 500+ listings, with per-listing cost falling as the portfolio grows. Ours is a flat rate that does not reward scale.
Where Rank STR is better
- No year-long commitment
- Their listing plan carries a one-year minimum and is billed upfront. Ours is month to month — if the first report is not useful, you stop.
- No onboarding fee
- They list $250 onboarding for 1–25 units on top of the subscription. At the listed rates, one listing costs $358 with AutoRank in year one versus $119.88 with us. Their per-listing rate falls with portfolio size, so the gap narrows as you scale — and reverses somewhere above a handful of listings.
- You can start in 30 seconds
- Paste a URL and read the report. There is no onboarding call and nothing to connect, because we only read the public listing page.
- Sized for one listing
- AutoRank is built for managers. If you have one or two properties, most of what you would be paying for — portfolio tooling, multi-channel coverage, automated rollout — is not something you need.
Which one should you use?
Choose AutoRank if…
You manage a portfolio across more than one channel and want the changes applied for you rather than handed to you, and the annual commitment and onboarding fee are worth that.
Choose Rank STR if…
You have a handful of listings, you want to see what is wrong before committing anything, and you would rather paste the fixes yourself than pay a year upfront to have them automated.
Common questions
- How much does AutoRank cost?
- When we checked on 2 August 2026, AutoRank listed its Airbnb Listing Optimization plan at $9.00 a month with 33% off, billed a year upfront, with a $250 onboarding fee for 1–25 units ($500 above 25) and a one-year minimum. Their separate Revenue Management product listed at $850 a month with a 15-unit minimum. Per-listing pricing is set by a slider on their page, so rates vary with portfolio size.
- Is AutoRank cheaper than Rank STR?
- The monthly figure is lower, the first year is not. At the listed rates a single listing works out to about $358 with AutoRank in year one, against $119.88 with us, because of the onboarding fee and annual billing. Their per-listing rate drops as the portfolio grows, so for a manager with a large portfolio AutoRank can end up cheaper per listing than a flat rate.
- Does Rank STR update my listing automatically?
- No. We return rewritten titles and descriptions you paste into Airbnb yourself. We never connect to your account, which is why the first report needs nothing but a URL — but it also means we cannot push changes for you the way AutoRank does.
- Does Rank STR work with Booking.com or Vrbo?
- No, Airbnb only. If you list across several channels and want them optimized together, AutoRank covers all three and we do not.
